- We require an adult to be responsible
for every child attending Small Poppies sessions. Parents can make
arrangements with another Small Poppies parent to take responsibility
for their child at any session.
- Make-up sessions may be available by
negotiation with the teacher.
- We require parents to be actively involved
with their children to get the most out of the session.
- Members are requested to arrive ON
TIME and stay for the whole session, AND HELP CLEAN UP AT
THE END.
- If your child has vomited or had diarrhea
in the last 24 hours, or has a runny nose or cough, PLEASE
keep them at home.
- We encourage you to network with other
parents and with Sue during the break and the activities parts of
the session, however we ask that you are considerate when Sue is
talking to the children as a group ie reading a story.
- If any child is consistently obstructive,
the parent may be asked to withdraw that child from the group.
- Parents are asked not to discuss any
child present unless the child's parent is also involved in the
discussion.
- Parents are encouraged to interact
actively and positively with all the children present in the session.
- Any problems with another child should
first be discussed with the parent of the child concerned. If the
problem cannot be resolved to the mutual satisfaction of those involved
the matter should be raised with Sue. Failing this the issue can
be taken to the next meeting of the Gifted Education Centre Board
sub-committee.
- If a child does not wish to participate
in an activity they may play off to the side as long as this does
not interfere with other children's learning.
- All members of the group must respect
each other and Small Poppies equipment. No physical or verbal abuse
will be tolerated nor will any destructive behaviour.
- If your child will not be attending
the full term at Small Poppies (ie is beginning school, going on
holiday) the MINIMUM fee is HALF of the FULL term fee.
- Please do not bring anything
containing peanuts to the session as some children have severe reactions
to them. In some cases this can be life-threatening.
- The safety of a child is the child's
caregiver's responsibility. While Small Poppies provides a safe
learning environment no responsibility will be taken for any injury
sustained at Small Poppies.
- If a non-enrolled child attends a session
as a 'one-off' $10 should be paid to Sue at the session.
- As a general rule fees are not refundable
but in special circumstances a case may be made to the Gifted Education
Centre Board of Trustees. Any refund of fees will be at the discretion
of the Board, which meets twice per term.
- The Gifted Education Centre Board of
Trustees reserves the right to cancel sessions if insufficient children
are enrolled in any class.
- Please DO NOT take extra colpies of
activity sheets without asking the teacher first - she may need
them for the next session.
