GIANT SCRABBLE
On Friday October 30th 2009 we had an afternoon of
fun on New Zealand's record breaking GIANT SCRABBLE
board - over 16 metres squared!
Primary
and intermediate school students from around Auckland
participated in the Gifted Education Centre GIANT
SCRABBLE competition to help raise awareness for giftedness.
The event was generously sponsored by Mattel with
top score and spot prizes awarded on the day.
The
competing teams of students will created their own
1m x 1m Scrabble tiles inspired by a nominated tall
poppy, who were invited to become their team
mentor. New Zealand's number one Scrabble champion,
Howard Warner, was on hand to give tips to these aspiring
young Scrabble players.
